LOC TIPS + POLICIES

01

Not Moisturizing Enough  ?

It is easy to neglect vour locs when it comes to this. If you do not hydrate your locs ( Water Mist) moisturize or you will have brittle dry locs. To top it all off, you must wrap your hair at night that cotton pillow case is killing your hair and striping it of moisture you just put into them! satin works

03

6 months or longer without a retwist

This is damaging to your locs because if your hair grows at a rapid rate and you're not getting Retwist every 4-6 weeks the new growth will grow outside of the traditional loc. loc smithing is needed to train your new growth without needing crochet work.

05

Cleansing your locs

I know you want to wash your hair to prevent build up and keep your locs clean but keep in mind over washing can cause your locs to take longer to lock in and you can risk thinning as well. Every 3 weeks is fine to wash your locs. Water is essential for your locs but shampoo too often is not good and will cause them to be stripped of their natural oils.

02

How long do you keep your hair in a style ?

I  recommend keeping styles in for a couple weeks.2 weeks max to give that scalp a break and the locs space to grow, not doing so can cause heightened tension, alopecia, breakage and more.

04

Loc maintenance tips

It is important to not wait too long to retwist your locs because regular maintenance helps them stay neat, tidy, and healthy. Waiting too long can lead to new growth tangling with the rest of the locs, which can make the retwisting process more difficult and potentially cause damage to the locs. Regular retwisting also helps promote healthy locs growth and overall locs health.

06

Difficulty in Maintenance

Your new growth needs to be trained to lock so when you're skipping loc maintenance this can also lead to breakage !! Thinning of Locs: Neglecting regular retwists can cause locs to become thick at the roots and thin towards the ends, leading to an uneven and potentially weaker structure. Overdue retwists can lead to increased itching and discomfort as new growth becomes tangled and matted, potentially causing scalp irritation and and discomfort as new growth becomes tangled and matted, potentially causing scalp irritation and inflammation.Long gaps between retwists can make it harder to maintain the shape and neatness of your locs, requiring more effort and time to style and care for them properly.Add loc repairs to your next service if needed invest in the best care for your locs
